All you need to know about VBS Jr and VBS K6

Q: What is the difference between VBS JR and VBS K6?

A: VBS JR will be geared to the little ones ages 3 (by July 1st) up to kids entering transitional K or preppy K in the fall. VBS K6 is for the older kids entering Kindergarten thru 6th in the fall.

Q: Does my child need to be fully potty trained?

A: Yes, in both VBS programs, we ask that all children be fully potty-trained, needing no assistance from our volunteers.

Q: What are the dates, times, and cost?

A: For VBS JR it will be held June 27-29 from 9:00-11:15 AM. The registration cost is $15 until June 18th. After this date it is $20.

VBS K6 is July 11-14 from 6:00-8:45 PM. The registration cost is $25 until June 18th. After this date it is $30.

Q: What should my child wear?

A: We ask that children come in comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes. They will be receiving a VBS shirt on the first day. The bathrooms will be made available for kids to change.

Q: Are there any changes to check in procedure?

A: Yes, we are using a new registration program! You will be emailed a confirmation letter as well as a ticket. You will need this ticket to check in your child daily. You may also share the ticket with any one that may be picking up or dropping off your child.

Q: Will my child be given dinner at VBS K6?

A: We ask that kids come with dinner already eaten. We provide a time for kids to sit and eat a heavy snack to compensate for an earlier than usual dinner for them.

Q: Will there be snack time during VBS JR?

A: Yes, a light snack will be provided! The café coordinator will email all parents of kids with food allergies, a few days before VBS JR, to notify you of the snacks being provided.

Q: My child has a food allergy. What should I do?

A: If you listed an allergy for your child on the registration form, our Café coordinator will contact you a few days before VBS. They will provide you with the daily snack schedule. For days that your child cannot eat our snack, we ask that you provide an alternative. Just bring in a bag with your child’s name clearly marked on it and hand it to your child’s group leader.

Q: My child has separation anxiety. Can I stay on site in case my child needs me?

A: Unfortunately we do not allow parents to stay on our church property for safety reasons. Only registered volunteers are allowed to be around the children. We will not let your child cry for a prolonged period of time and so will contact you if they are too upset to continue.

Q: Can I make friend requests?

A: There is no guarantee that friends can be put together. We try our best to make the groups fun and safe for everyone.

Q: Why are parents not allowed to watch or visit during VBS?

A: We have a closed campus policy; this includes the parking lot. We make every effort to ensure the safety of the children. That is the number one priority for our safety team. Registered volunteers are the only adults allowed during the hours of VBS.
