We are delighted to have Dr. D.A. Carson guest speak for us on Sunday, Jan, 27. Dr. D.A. (Don) Carson (Ph.D., University of Cambridge) is one of the most respected New Testament scholars in the world. He is currently Research Professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and co-founder and president of The Gospel Coalition. He has written or co-authored over 50 books including the Gold Medallion, award-winning The Gagging of God and An Introduction to the New Testament. He is an active guest lecturer in churches and academic settings around the world and has served as pastor of Richmond Baptist Church and as the first dean of Northwest Baptist Seminary.
Daniel Njenga Maina will be sharing his testimony on Sunday, Jan. 20. Njenga is currently the Global Outreach Coordinator at Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. Njenga was born and raised in the slums of Waithaka outside Nairobi, Kenya. While his parents worked hard to support the family, their meager incomes were insufficient to meet all of their needs. Things grew worse when his mother passed away from tuberculosis, but before she did, she’d enrolled Njenga in Compassion’s child development program at a local church. Her desire for him to receive an education so his life could be different than hers became a reality through his Compassion sponsorship. This led to him being the first person in his extended family to go to college.
A compelling communicator and true visionary, Njenga loves speaking to college students, diverse church groups, and leaders on Kingdom impact, living a Gospel-driven lifestyle, social justice, leadership, family restoration, and cross-cultural missions.
Njenga earned his Bachelor of Education degree from The University of Nairobi, Kenya, and his Master of Intercultural and Urban Studies degree from Moody Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois. He lives in Phoenix, Arizona, with his wife Dominique and their daughter Imara.
At Living Hope, we come together as an assembly on Sundays and gather together in small regional groups during the week, called Cell Groups. In our Cell Groups, we meet for food, fellowship, prayer, and Christian study. The purpose of these more intimate gatherings is growing as a community of believers and to build Christ-driven, meaningful relationships. To learn more about our Cell Groups, please join us in the Patio on February 3rd for our Cell Group Open House to meet all the shepherds!
All recent visitors are invited to join us for a time of lunch, fellowship, and presentation about our community, cause and Christ. Our First Lunch will follow the 11:30AM service on the first Sundays of every even month. Our upcoming First Lunch will be on Sunday, Feb. 3. Please RSVP by filling out this ONLINE FORM. If you have any questions, please email the Welcoming Ministry (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Congratulations! Living Hope’s proposed budget (version 6) was passed during the paper vote on Sunday, January 13.
How should the Christian life be distinct and different from that of the world? We will take three Sundays to remember that we were “Created for More.” Come in anticipation of not only the messages but the stories and challenges.
