What to Expect

Welcome to the website of Living Hope Community Church. Whether you are church shopping, seeking more information, or fully involved, we hope that you can find what you are looking for here.

The best way to get a “feel” for Living Hope is to visit one of our Sunday Services. We meet at 9:00 or 11:00 a.m. For first time guests, we recommend the 11:00 am service so that you would have plenty of time to get to meet people following the service.

Where to find us:

We are located in the city of Brea in California.  Directions to our sanctuary can be found here.

Entering the church:

The main entrance to the church’s parking lot is off of Lambert Blvd. Once you turn in, there is additional parking to the rear of the building as well as overflow parking in the adjacent business center .

If you have children:

Enter the building through the front (facing Lambert Blvd.) and into the lobby. For children preschool through 6th grade, please sign in your child at the front check-in area and walk your child to the appropriate classroom. For all others, welcomers at the front lobby will direct you to the appropriate location for your child(ren).

During the service:

We encourage all attendees to set aside time at the beginning of each service to sit, pray to God and prepare for worship. Our presider begins with a welcome, announcements, and a call to worship. Then our worship team leads us in a time of praise worship followed by a sermon from one of our pastors. The service concludes with more praise and a collection of offering, followed by the benediction. Please do not feel obligated to give during the time of offering if you are a visitor to the church.

What is the praise style?

The worship style is predominantly contemporary and the worship team leads the congregation in three or four songs for the first part of the service. You are welcome to sing along and pray or, if you are new to attending church, to observe.

What are the sermons like?

The preaching at Living Hope is exegetical in nature, or strongly based on studying and interpreting God’s Word. We look at even the most challenging texts in the Bible with the belief that God has something to teach us. An outline of the sermon is provided for note taking and future reflection on the points.

What do people wear?

Living Hope attendees usually dress in casual to business casual wear. Jeans and shorts with flip flops are not uncommon. But dress shoes and ties or nice dresses are also typical.

After the service:

If you are new to the church, please make your way to the Living Room so that the pastors and Welcoming Committee can greet you and answer any questions you may have about Living Hope. We would love to meet you.
